Dear friend,
April began with a glorious trip as Boyd and I headed to DC to celebrate the fact that he read the entire Book of Mormon. I am so proud of this kid. We had awesome conversations and a lot of fun. We met up with my parents for dinner, did indoor sky diving, walked around the monuments, did an escape room, and saw Nate Bargatze live. Such a blast!
We then came home and enjoyed a wonderful General Conference and Easter weekend with the family. The girls had a primary Easter egg hunt at the church and and Elias introduced the tradition of a sunrise walk to Great Island. Unfortunately it was quite foggy that morning so Elias acted out the sunrise for us.
We then got to celebrate our favorite guy in the world. I love you E. You are the absolute best.
April break brought another edition of "Erickson Family Excursions of Mind, Body, and Spirit", or as my children lovingly call them, "Mom's Homeschool Trips". This year we headed to Massachusetts to celebrate the nation's 250 anniversary. We started in Boston where Dad and I reenacted his proposal.
It was then on to a duck boat and another tour of the city. We hit up all the major sites, including cannoli testing in the North End.
We then threw British tea overboard and went to Broadway's Beauty and the Beast.
Elias took the big kids to the Boston Temple while the littles and park-hopped.
We then all took a mosaic art class which was a lot of fun!
We enjoyed great family time and walks, as well as a few factory tours including the Braille printing press and piano factory and a dumpling making class and Louisa May Alcott's house.
Between the trips and parties we enjoy to enjoy the small things. Elias completed another large Spartan race.
Summer has enjoyed the stake dances, I've liked teaching Primary Valiant Activities and Boyd has attempted bread making (he still has a way to go!). We welcome two new bee packages and the kids continue to perform at the nursing home every month.
