Dear friend,
We were thrilled to have Corie and her kids join us for Conference weekend. We enjoyed a great weekend immersing ourselves in gospel truths, cousins and hiking.
The highlight of month/year/our most amazing family trip ever was our week spent in Iceland. Everything came together on this trip. Travel was smooth, weather was great, schedule was flexible and we saw the Northern Lights...TWICE!
We took a redeye flight so the jet-lag caught up to a few of us on the whale watching tour. The tour was incredible we saw so many whales and hundreds of dolphins; it was like they were having a party and we just got to pop in and watch.
We decided we like American hot dogs a bit more than the famous Icelandic Dog. 
We spent the first night in a Viking Hotel.
Each day was filled with epic, once-in-a-lifetime moments.
We had to let go of our 2023 No Sugar Challenge to fully immerse ourselves in the Icelandic Experience.
We spent the rest of our nights in a fantastic Air BnB in the countryside allowing us to enjoy the Northern Lights.
We went swimming at a different hot spring or local pool almost everyday.
I love that the natural beauty brought out the artist in my older children. They would often ask for my phone to take pictures. Sometimes I jumped in to make the picture even better.
I still get teary-eyed when I think of the ice cave hike. It was magical.
We even had a great time driving around. We rented a 9 passenger van and listened to "Redwall" one of Elias' favorite books from when he was a kid.
Iceland will go down in Erickson History as one of the best family trips ever.
We celebrated the 39th birthday of our favorite guy. The kids made him some incredible gifts this year. Elias really is the best. They are so lucky to have him as their dad.
We enjoyed some great explorations at the beach as well as training for our beehive. We painted eggs and watched for the groundhog who has been visiting our backyard. Little Rose has now lost two baby teeth and it's kind of breaking my heart. It's funny, the things that force you to acknowledge the passage of time.
I hosted my last event as Ward Activities Director. We held a Night of Nations and it was a hit!
Gram came down for a weekend and we loved spending time with her and celebrating her birthday.
Smith is enjoying his first season of baseball and Boyd is still loving soccer.
I got to spend an incredible evening in the city with my friend Heather since she was in town for a conference.
We have planted our first garden and even made a cover for it to stop the animals from getting to it.
The kids made up nicknames for everyone in the family and though they are not my favorite, the kids sure are having fun with them.

We did an out-and-back to Maryland in one day to attend the Missionary Extravaganza that Corie hosted for her stake. It was amazing and everyone was a great sport in the car.
I am so grateful for April 2023.
