Dear friend,
December was one big party after another in our household. On December first we hosted Elias' coworkers from London for an evening of good food and fun.
On the third we joined my cousins in celebrating Grandpa Boyd's birthday by enjoying his favorite eats from McDonalds.
Summer enjoyed an awesome cake decorating class with friends.
My parents had encouraged our family to read Charles Dickens' "The Christmas Carol". The kids and I enjoyed reading it together. My parents then came to visit with the Hawks and the Packers and took everyone to a performance of "The Christmas Carol".
My parents we able to stick around for a few days and we loved having their company. My mom presented the kids with new ornaments. It's such a fun annual tradition of love.
We went Christmas caroling with Activity Days
and enjoyed Joy's ballet performance.
I was in charge of the Christmas party this year and the theme was "Ripples of Light"
This month's story wouldn't be complete without a picture of the line to get Covid tests that went out the door of the pharmacy.
The kids and I put together bags of Christmas Hershey Kisses and did 57 ring and runs in one day. The kids took it really seriously (even though the bags had our name on it).
One day E & I surprised the kids on their walk home from school.
The girls I teach yoga to presented me with a big thank you card and gift.
Teaching them has been one of my favorite things of the year.
Our friends hosted a big cookie decorating party with a visit from Santa.
Other friends hosted a darling nativity that the kids were in.
We hosted our annual Christmas recital.
Our three oldest each performed two Christmas songs each and we had a good time hearing all the other performances.
We hosted a Christmas fireside brunch for the youth.
On Christmas Eve we hosted lunch and Christmas Minute-to-Win-it games.
That night we went to a friend's house for another wonderful Christmas Eve celebration with stories, songs and more food than you can imagine.
That night we read the Christmas story around the light of the Christmas tree and Summer presented us with a special present.
The next morning as we sang to wake each other up, Summer had a fever and unfortunately tested positive for Covid so we had to cancel our trip to Corie's house to see the Linds and the Hawks.
Gratefully, symptoms were mild and while everyone was slightly sick, Summer, Elias and I were the only ones to test positive. I'm thrilled to report we have gotten slightly better at quarantining. 
The new Christmas presents helped entertain the kids. We also had a "Chinese Food Discovery Night" and the kids held a cooking competition.
This picture is Smith at his happiest; with a full can of fruit and a book all to himself.
The girls performed a lot of exams.
We enjoyed a few nice hikes
and Joy celebrated our 15 year anniversary by drawing a picture of me and E on our wedding day.
New Years Even we cleaned up the stream by our local park and completed our snapshots.
On to the new year!
