June 2022

 Dear Friend,

I'm nearly 4 months behind on blog posts, so please accept a photo dump.  June is birthday month in our home (Joy on the first, Boyd and Smith on the 11th). This was our first year hosting "friend parties" for everyone so there was a lot of celebrating!

School concluded on the 20th so the entire month was pretty much a big party.  We had field days,
an end-of-the-year school bash (where we got completely soaked),
musical presentations,
and moving on ceremonies.
Summer hosted her own end-of-year party/farewell for her best friend Emma who moved to Belgium.
The boys were called on a mission one evening for a Primary Activity and Summer enjoyed a Daddy-Daughter dance.
We enjoyed a fantastic day at the beach with our friends at their pool club.
I was able to slip away with some friends for a delightful girls weekend in Westbrook CT.
Summer enjoyed a girls weekend of her own as she flew to Oklahoma City all by herself to visit friends from Santa Fe with whom she still keeps in touch.
A major highlight of the month was having the Shumways come to visit!  We love this crew and can't wait to meet their little man.  Callie is a blast and I would do well to hang out with my sisters everyday.
The hectic month was scattered with other delightful family moments.
We've taken it upon ourselves to clean up the park near our neighborhood every few weeks so we invested in some trash grabbers and they are a real hit!
June 27th we embarked on our epic six-week adventure.  Elias and the kids were road warriors and I loved my early morning drives with nothing but my books on tape, my favorite caffeine, and the sunrise.  The family was patient with me as I wanted to plow through but they got me to stop at a few (very few) places along the way and we celebrated our arrival in UT by checking out Gram and Grandpa's property and taking them out to lunch.
Love you all,
Brittany et al.
